Peace, Love and Joy Card - Kaisercraft "North Pole"

Hi again... sorry if you're feeling bombarded with updates!  Just wanting to keep caught up {for a change}.  This is the Christmas Card I created using Kaisercraft's North Pole Collection.  This time I've focused on the green tones.

I'm loving the cute litte Reindeer diecuts from theco-ordinating Collectables.

If you pop on over to the Kaisercraft Blog you'll be able to see what the rest of the team have created with this range each week this month!

Christmas Memories Layout - Kaisercraft "North Pole"

Hi everyone!  Today I have Kaisercraft's North Pole Collections to share with you... these are now live on the Kaisercraft Blog, pop on over later to see what the other girls have created with this super cute and fun Christmas range.

With last year being a very 'not photographed' Christmas I was struggling finding unscrapped Christmas photos.  Luckily I have a friend with super cute twins, and they were perfect for this layout!

I love that this range has this lovely soft blue, mixed in with the Red and Black it's something a little bit different.  The range also has a gorgeous aqua shade to tie in also.

I've had fun using pieces from the Sticker Sheet and Collectables to create sweet embellishment clusters, as well as grabbing some of the little stickers from the co-ordinating Captured Memories Pocket Stickers.

Don't forget to pop on over to the Kaisercraft Blog this coming month to see what the other girls on the team create with this line!

A Friend Card - Kaisercraft "Teddy Bears Picnic"

My other project using the Teddy Bear's Picnic range was a cut little card, and I have created a sweet little ruffle.

The papers used are from the 6 1/2" paper pads, these are perfect for card makers as the designs are perfectly reduced to suit the smaller sizing.

Stop by again tomorrow to see what I have created with the Yuletide Collection... perfect for people who like more traditional style Christmas papers.

Special Bear Layout - Kaisercraft "Teddy Bears Picnic"

Hi everyone!  Today I have my projects I created for Kaisercraft using their super cute Teddy Bear's Picnic range.  For this layout I've chosen a simple design background so I could feature some stamping and texture paste... and ink, and colour sprays...

I've used some of the Collectables as well as the Sticker Sheet to create the cute Teddy Bear images and Title.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Beautiful Layout - Kaisercraft "Bow & Arrow"

I really enjoyed creating this layout using Kaisercraft's Bow and Arrow Collection!  This was one of my first forays into the 'messy background' style... and it was such fun!

I've used the diecut sheet as a stencil and have used ink as well as texture paste to create the chevron pattern in the background.  I next added some stamping, randomly done without using a stamping block, it creates an even more 'random' look which suits this style so well.

Loving that the Kaisercraft Paper Blooms always have a perfect colour to match their collections!

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll have more to share tomorrow...

The Perfect Day Card - Kaisercraft "Bow & Arrow"

In scheduling my next set of Kaisercraft projects {they were live on the Kaisercraft Blog last week} I've noticed I've forgotten to share my Bow and Arrow Projects! {Hi mum, here they are finally LOL}. So this first one is a card I've created, layering lots of cute papers and Collectables.

Cards were {are} not my forte, but I'm quite enjoying the process of making them now... especially adding all the layers!

I adored the colours and shapes in the Bow and Arrow Collection, and again it's one of those versatile ones that can be used for masculine and feminine creations, as well as covering different age groups!

I'll have another Bow and Arrow project to share with you this afternoon!

Be Happy Cards - Donna Salazar Designs

Hi everyone!  Today I have created a couple of cards to share with you, featuring my favourite Spellbinders Dies by Donna.

I have used Donna's Rose Creations, Wonderful Wings and Girlie Grunge Labels... these would be my favourite from Donna's fabulous collection!

I have inked the die plate with Patina Mix'd Media Inx and then used the embossing matt for the Be Happy Labels from the Girlie Grunge Label set, it's such a fun process!

I love the dual layers available with the Wonderful Wings Dies.

For this one I've used the Rose Creations and Wonderful Wings Dies again and also the Shadow Flowers which I find are perfect to created some background interest.

The flowers were touched with Clearsnap's Glue Gloss {if you haven't used this before you've simply got to try it... for adding glitter to precise spots it's just brilliant}, and then coated with Twinkle Dust Glitter.  Mixed Berries for this pink toned card and Sugar Shimmer for the aqua toned card.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have like my cards today!

Until next time, take care!

Creative Kitty Layout - Donna Salazar Designs

Hi everyone!  Today I have a fun, messy style layout to share with you.   I'm playing around trying some new {to me} things and I really love the messy mixed media backgrounds that are becoming popular, but I still want to make them 'me'.

One way to keep things 'me' is to still incorporate my love of handmade elements and the fabulous texture of fabrics.  I'm loving the look so far!

Click on the Image for a larger view

Today I have used Donna's "Dear Sir" Stamp in the very background using Midnight Mix'd Media Inx Chox and made sure it was thoroughly dry {quick zap with a heat tool for the Chox and it's all good} before adding a very thin layer of gesso in random spots.  After this I've added pattern with a stencil using Texture Paste.  Once it all dried I had fun spraying SmoochSpritz inks and let them run!  I've used Caramel Latte SmoochSpritz and then to get the grey tone colour, I've mixed some Jasmine Mix'd Media Inx Re-inker, Water, WoodStain and IceRink SmoochSpritz to get a lighter tone.  For the ink 'splatters' I used Truffle Mix'd Media Ink Re-Inker with some water to create my own flat colour spray.

I've created a ruffle {yep, I'm still very much in love with my ruffles} and a Worn Rose using Donna's Rose Creations Die from Spellbinders.  You can find a tutorial link on my blog for the Worn Rose HERE.  I love these roses, they almost sit flat... well flat for me, but have such wonderful impact.  I'm not too sure what I'd do without Donn'a fabulous Flower Dies because nothing beats having your very own hand-made perfectly matched flower!

Thanks for stopping by again!  Don't forget to check out our latest Sketch-n-Color inspiration challenge... you can find it on the blog HERE.

Create Dreams Layout - Donna Salazar Designs

Hi everyone, today I have a little 8x10 layout to share with you!  This one is of a favourite photo from when I was in New York... I was so very happy there, loved that city and loved one very special person I got to meet while there.

Today I have used Donna's Mix'd Media Inx, not only to stamp, but also to alter the colour of a flower, some ribbon and to make some 'ink' splotches.

It was so easy to do with the reinker, just a few drop with some water in a small mister bottle or dropper bottle and you have your own perfectly matched colour spray.  If you don't have the re-inker, then the ink pads are definitely juicy enough to blot onto a craft sheet and add some water.  The wonderfully pigmented ink creates colour that goes a long way!

Thanks for stopping by today!  See you again soon...

Smile Wall Hanging... Donna Salazar Design

Hi again! Today I have  cute little hanging to share with you all.  This originally started out as a card, but I kept adding layers and somehow it became a little hanging!

I love these little 'hangings', they are fun to make and I like to challenge myself to use only the things left on my desk after finishing a layout.  Mind you, since I drag out enough stuff to complete 20 layouts while working on one, it does leave me lots of choice LOL.  I've cut out some of Donna's little clouds from her Fun and Funky Cutout Sheet, as well as one from the Family Jeans collection.

The ribbon was originally white and was 'dyed' using Donna's Denim Mix'd Media Inx for a perfect match.  Once it's dried with a heat gun the colour doesn't run, love it!

I also stole Donna's idea of feeding paper strips through my Dymo labeller... handy since I ran out of tape!  I love the soft subtle look of it.

And I know I've done them before... but I've done another Brick Wall Tutorial for you!  This one was created on the mulberry paper from Donna's Mix'd Media Stax and the soft paper gives it a whole different look I feel.  Brick Wall on Mulberry Tutorial HERE. {PDF Download through Box.net}

Thanks for visiting today, I hope you find the tutorial useful!
